I can’t seem to find the Coalition’s website. Joe’s link above looks broken.

@Joe Householder – I’d be interested to know what position the Coalition taking on chemical safety and how it thinks the TSCA should be reformed?

It might be that we have different ideas as to what counts as good legislation, even if we have the same goal of putting safety first.

You do know pesticides are regulated under FIFRA, and not TSCA, right? This article implies otherwise to me.

As Executive Director of the Coalition for Chemical Safety I just wanted to toss in my two cents. We are very proudly an organization with many business members, including the American Chemistry Council, but we are also actively recruiting individuals. We are seeking citizens concerned about safety as well as the tens of thousands of people who work in the chemical industry and industries that rely on chemistry such as solar energy companies, medical device manufacturers and others. In fact, as soon as we saw Dr. Denison’s post we issued an immediate invitation to him as he would be a brilliant asset for our coalition. He has yet to sign up.

The bottom line is that the Coalition for Chemical Safety is asking anyone to join who believes the Toxic Substances Control Act can and should be reformed in such a way that it puts safety first while also promoting industry innovation and protecting and creating good paying American jobs.
